PROCEDURES FOR EXPORTATION OF MINERALS OR MINERAL SAMPLES FROM TANZANIA
People who have the right to export minerals; –

- Mineral right holders (special mining licence, mining licence, primary mining licence, processing licence, smelting licence and refining licence)
- A holder of a dealer licence
- A non-resident
- A non-resident with a Tourist Visa
Note: Holders of broker licences are not authorized to export minerals.
Permits required for minerals exportation

- Export Permit
- Certificate of Origin for tanzanite Minerals;
- Tanzania Kimberley Process Certificate for Diamond Minerals
- ICGLR Certificate for Tin, Tantalum & Tungsten Minerals
- Special Export Permit for Non-residents and Tourists
- Export Permit for Minerals from Gem Trade Fair in Tanzania
Note: Special Export Permit is issued for not more than twice in a year
Applicable Fees

- The application fee for the export permit is USD 100
- Application fees for Special Export Permits for tourists and non-residents are USD 250 and USD 2000 respectively
- Proof of payment of royalty and Inspection fees for minerals to be exported
- In the case of a non-resident with a Tourist Visa, a different fee applies for exporting minerals with a value not exceeding USD 1,000
